In motorhomes with multiple batteries there should be an isolator already in place that prevents the main battery (that starts the engine) from being depleted by the auxiliary battery that powers the interior lights. An example of such an item is the part # PK5231201 which acts like a switch that opens and closes. This is rated for 100-amps. We also offer other isolators # DW08770 (95-amps) and # DW08771 (120-amps).

Battery power will pass between the left and right terminals only when there is a 12V signal on the center post. That center post connects to a key-controlled circuit. This item allows power from the MH alternator to reach the auxiliary battery only when the motorhome is running. When it is off the isolator contact opens and power flow is stopped.
