Length of Shank on etrailer Cargo Carrier for Spare Tire Clearance of Jeep Cherokee

Question:

I see your picture shows the carrier installed the back of a Jeep. But that jeep has a stock size tire on it. My Jeep Cherokee is heavily modified and the hitch itself is not under the Jeep. Instead it is built into the rear bumper so it sits up higher than a standard hitch. My question is how far out from the hitch does the shank extend? What is the length of the shank from the hitch pin to the carrier itself? My spare tire is 12 1/2inch wide and Id like to know if my load would clear the spare tire. It extends fully about 15inch from the hatch of the Jeep. Also, what are the rules for returns if I buy this item and it does not work for me?

From the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the 24x60 etrailer.com Cargo Carrier # e98874 when it is folded down is 19-1/2" so I'm pretty confident this will work in that orientation. You can measure from the center of your hitch pin hole out to the furthest edge of your spare and make sure that it's under 19-1/2" just to verify.

When the carrier is folded up that reduces the clearance by 10" so from the center of the hitch pin hole to the carrier will be 9-1/2" and I don't believe it will work on your setup in that orientation.

Some other products you may be interested in using with this carrier include the Locking Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin # e99047, the License Plate Mounting Brackets # e98944, and the Cargo Bag # 988501.

Attached are some videos as well as a link to our returns policy for you to look over.
