Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Valterra rubber tank grommet. This is a one and a half inch rubber tank grommet to be used with polyethylene holding tanks. It does require a two and a half inch tank hole. Once you have that hole made, you can simply push this down into the hole, making sure that the edges of the hole line up with this gap here, this ridge in your tank grommet.
Once you have the grommet in place, you can go ahead and install your drain pipe, making sure that it goes inside the tank grommet, and then you can seal it with a hose clamp. The hose clamp is not included with this product, however, it can be easily found at most hardware stores. The purpose of the tank grommet is to make that seal nice and tight so that you don't get any gases leaking, which could be unpleasant and potentially harmful. And that's going to complete our look at the Valterra rubber tank grommet.

It;s of good quality!

The directions said for a 2.5" cutout but the grommet only measures 2.25". Guess it might be difficult to install if it was 2.5". Used 3M 4200. This will never leak with that sealant.
Needed to patch an old hole and then cut a new one. This made the "retro fit" work well. Nice fit and no issues as of now.
