Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the replacement long mounting bracket for the Thule Spare Me bike carrier. This unit replaces the long mounting bracket for the Thule Spare Me spare tire mounted bike rack. Simply slides over the shank of the mounting plate and provides the mounting point for the bike rack. The rack actually mounts with a hand knob and carriage bolt, which are sold separately, so those items are not included with the purchase of this part number. The unit's made from a durable steel construction, features a really nice protective coating on it so you don't have to worry about rust or corrosion. I had a good first experience with etrailer. At first I bought the wrong part because my jeep tires were very big. But they were good to work with in getting me what I needed.

I recently purchased both the Replacement Long Mounting Bracket (p/n 752-1425-002) and the Long Standoff Extension Adapter (p/n852-3305-001) for my Thule 963 Spare Me bike carrier. These two items were exactly what I needed when I upgraded my Jeep wrangler with a 33x12.50R15 spare tire. The standard hardware that my bike carrier came with just wont accommodate for this size of tire. I usually don't write reviews but I felt that this was the least I could do after the great service etrailer provided me with. I asked a few questions via email before purchasing the items and they replied very quickly. Overall, Im very pleased with this transaction. The hardware took less than 5 minutes to install. Everything worked out perfect.
Great attachment for over-sized tires when using the Thule Spare Me bike rack. But I hope you benefit from my mistakes ... I should have checked my bike rack prior to purchasing. Ends up even with my over-sized tires, the standard mount worked!!
The extended tube is a good solution for me to attach my Thule bike carrier to an oversized tire on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. My only "complaint" is that it would make sense to include a longer bolt for the carrier as the stock one at 4 inches will not work with this extender. Complicating matters is the fact that the OEM bolt is a non standard diameter meaning that you can't go to Home Depot or Lowes for the needed 6" bolt. My solution was to have a friend retap the hole on the rack but including a new bolt with the extender makes the most sense to this consumer.

Exactly what we needed to use the bike rack on a vehicle with a larger spare tire. We did need stand off extension as well. Bike rack is solid!
Needed this long mounting bracket for my Jeep Rubicon with 255 tires. The one that came with the rack went with my old Jeep. I looked at another website and the price was ridiculously high at $20 with $10 shipping! So I looked for an alternative and found etrailer. I have been using a Thule Spare Me on my 2005 LJ for the last year. Unfortunately, when I upgraded to 31x10.5 Duratracs, my bike rack no longer fit on the spare tire. Before spending a ton of money on a new hitch rack, I did a quick google search and found these products. By combining the long mounting bracket and the long standoff extension adapter I was able to keep using my original bike rack. Installation was a breeze and shipping was insanely fast. I rarely leave reviews like this, but I will be a long-time customer if this kind of service keeps up!
My new spare tire is wider than the old one, so the bike rack's threaded rod no longer reached the post. the replacement part was exactly what i needed to make my spare tire bike rack fit over my over sized jeep spare tire. along with the long standoff extension adapter my bike rack has been installed.

I was hoping the extension pieces would be long enough for my new spare tire, but they were still a little short, so unfortunately I'm having to send them back! My experience w/etrailer was great except for the pieces not being long enough! I will definitely look to order from you all again in the future!
Worked great on the back of my jeep with 32" mud tires. I also used the long standoff extension adapter as well.
This is longer as advertised, however, this along with the long standoff extension is still not long enough for a 35 inch tire...

Hugh, thank you for your review. The spare me 2 bike rack part # TH963PRO with the long mounting bracket part # 752-1425-002 and long standoff extension part # 852-3305-001 will fit up to 33 inch tires.
