To install Stromberg Carlson's commercial rail, you must make sure that the rail's mounting blocks are positioned in front of a wall stud or the blocking behind the door. Anodized aluminum screws are provided, but rails should be bolted to the RV's wall studs for a snug fit.

The stainless steel grab handle can assist you going up the stairs and offers some stability while you are stepping down.Our original aluminum factory handrail was yanked off by the storage company employees. We ordered this new stainless steel one from etrailer.com. The original had 4 screw holes. This new one had three. Only one screw hole lined up with the new handrail. My husband had to drill the additional two holes. He said that the included screws were 3 inches which would be too long for most RVs. One of the best features of this new model is that there is a lock so the handle can not be placed against the door with you inside by pranksters. Photos - damaged origianl handrail and installed new handrail.

Handrail holding up very well. Went through the AZ summer heat very well! Would not hesitate to recommend to others.
The trailer handle is just what we wanted. Even though it was more expensive then other handles, the quality is what we were looking for. It's heavy duty and we are happy we found this one after looking at others.
The had rail was just the thing to replace the small old one. The new one installed easily and has a great sold feel when entering and exiting the trailer also when you fold it closed over the door you can lock it into place for extra security!
I was impressed with the quality of the product! I didn't expect the machined blocks, they are so solid. Delivery time beat expectations. Thanks for a great job!

Quality built. Much more substantial than your standard RV handrail. Easy install
Bought this to use in a semi-permanent install at the back stairs of a house with 3 steps and 3.5' rise ground to back door. Needed something for 90yr old mother to help get up stairs and this works great. Mounted blocks on to wooden siding with one set of vertical holes picking up an interior stud with 6" long hex head wood screws, the other set of holes using 2.5" screws into just the siding. Replaced spring loaded mechanism with SS bolt hardware and 2" diameter fender washers / locking nuts. Now it is solid but still can be taken off house leaving blocks behind for painting. Aluminum and stainless materials should last for years. Only question is how long foam piece lasts, but guess there are things to use if needed. Most excellent.

As mentioned it is installed on the back door of house vs a trailer application. Materials are holding up well, with the use of aluminum and stainless steel expect it to last for 20yrs. Even the rubber hand grip has not deteriorated although only seeing sun a couple hours a day seems like that will last 10yrs. Assume rubber will be first to go so just would use bicycle handlebar padded tape to replace if that day ever arrives. Quality product.

Great I installed another one at another entrance
Excellent product, the fit and finish are of the highest quality. After a year of continuous use the handrail has been without flaw. It is very well built and far surpasses the other choices for holding handrails. Not one speck of rust and mounting materials supplied were exactly as needed.

Excellent handrail! We actually use it in our garage for safety and support where we have 3 steps down in entering the garage from the kitchen. It swings out of the way when we want to bring a large object into the kitchen through the garage.

Great! We use it for safety every time we take the steps from our kitchen to the garage as well as the reverse.
This is Heavy Duty. Love the all aluminum blocks, no more pulling screws through cheap plastic. The stainless steel handle is never going to fail. I suppose at some point I person might wear out the foam handle, but, that is going to take a Long Time.

This thing is still perfect. Very good purchase. It will be on the camper long after I am done with it.
Far superior product; much better than its plastic counter part the fittings are solid billet aluminum and the stainless grab bar looks great. After installing it, I’m confident it should last a lifetime.
The mount screw spacing is right-on vertically but be aware you will have to drill two holes on both mount fittings horizontally. However you will be happy with the finished product.

Perfect, solid as when first installed!
Just received the handle so don't how it will perform. It looks great though with cast aluminum mounts and the handle itself seems to be real stainless rather than the cheaper anodized aluminum others advertise as "stainless steel". Well worth the extra cost. Best, Johnny

It is still working. Hangs on the side of the trailer, folds out when needed. Helps old persons up and down. Would buy again AAA product.
It works great. Even the step-challenged friend could get into our camper using this add-on.
I had to order more appropriate bolts to make the installation. That is my only, but important, criticism.
This is a quality piece. Real stainless steel and not aluminum or plastic. Rated for 200 pounds. Nice to know we have a margin in case we need it to hold on.

Excellent, quality product
The original handrails were made with plastic bases which broke when the handhold was grabbed. Very dangerous. I replaced both handrails with these which have metal bases which are very sturdy and much safer. I recommend these handrails.
This is the best built folding handrail out there. Extremely sturdy and very well made.
Well worth spending the extra money. It fit our Cameo fifth wheel's original holes perfectly without having to drill new holes. We added the shims that etrailer sells and that made the fit dead on. I highly recommend this folding handle.
The product was top quality ,the grab bar is stainless the brackets are a solid block of aluminum

We bought this handle after the manufacturer installed handle on our camper broke off while using. After a year, this handle has held up to a lot of use. It is much higher quality than the original, using stainless steel rather than plastic parts. We are very happy with our purchase.

This is a nice heavy duty handle. The brackets are all stainless steal and won't break like the plastic ones do. My only complaint is it came with no instructions. While it is not rocket science to install you have to make sure that the brackets are square and in line with one another or else the handle will not seat correctly. I need to make some adjustments to mine to get it working better. I think it is well worth the extra money over the plastic alternative, which I had and broke.

The handrail is GREAT! I would recommend it to anyone who wants to upgrade their original handrail. The rail is sturdy. And, although I can not imagine it, I do appreciate that this rail can not lock us inside the RV by jokesters. That image could keep me up nights. Two thumbs up.
