Hi. Matt with etrailer. And today we're talking about Rhino-Rack's Cable Lock. And this is gonna be designed to work with your HD Rhino-Rack Crossbars. And really this is gonna be something that's designed for if you constantly have a ladder on top of your vehicle and you rarely take it off, or you take it off when you're at the job site. The reason why I recommend this for more permanent uses, or if you constantly have a ladder up here, is because installing this bracket can be kinda lengthy for what it is or opposed to just using a regular cable lock because you're gonna have this bracket that bolts or mounts into here.

And along with that, the way the cable seats into this bracket is a really tight fit and you're probably not taking it out after you get it in there. This lock is gonna come with two keys. And as you can see, if I unlock it, I can take out our cable. Now, this cable is only gonna be 27 inches long, so make sure you put that right next to whatever you're trying to lock down because you might not have enough length to really hold it on there. And after, when you've taken this off, whatever you're securing down, you can actually place it right onto this bracket off to the side so you don't have this dangling off to the side and scratching up your mirrors or your vehicle itself.

The way this is gonna be mounted is gonna be unique to the Rhino-Rack HD bars. And that's gonna be because we have this channel at the bottom and it's pretty wide. You're actually gonna seat this block into that channel and that's gonna what hold your bracket up into place. Now you do have the ability to adjust this where it sits on your crossbars, but you're gonna have to re-tighten down this bolt each time you wanna move it. So really, maneuvering it a whole lot might not be something you wanna do.

So if you have something that's just dedicated to this one spot, that's where this is gonna be most ideal for. Like I was saying, this is gonna come with two keys. You're gonna have one key on your person, on your key chain, and another one just in your vehicle just in case you forget anything. And the way this works is you just pull out your key just like so. But the cylinder is gonna be a push cylinder, so I can just (lock clicking) push that back into place.

And there's something else to add is that when we do have this in the lock position, they're not gonna pop out, but when we turn it to, it's not popping right outta place either. You actually have to pull on that to remove it. So, unlike some other cable locks, some of them will just pop right outta place as soon as you turn that key, which could just pop right out. And then as it falls down, it could hit your vehicle and scratch up some of your paint. In my opinion, I think this is gonna be a great option, especially if you are looking for something that is unique to your Rhino-Rack crossbars because this is specifically designed to work with this HD bars, and it's really nice that we have this bracket that even has a spot for our cable to stay so we don't have that dangling off to the side and scratching the up our paint. And because if you do have that item that is pretty much just living on top of your roof, having that extra bit of security is gonna go a long way.
