The safety chain loop is designed for use with a factory-installed underbed gooseneck hitches. This is designed to fit the rear pucks on 2014 or newer RAM trucks with the towing and prep package.It attaches directly to the receivers built into the gooseneck rails for simple mounting and removal. Really nice, easy-to-use design. We're looking at a nice drillable steel with black, powder-coated finishing, which provides corrosion and rust resistance, and with this part number, you get one safety chain hookup.A few measurements I want to go over with you real quick .. We're going to measure the opening.
So, going in this direction, it measures about . I'm going to say about 2 1/4. Going this direction, we have about an 1 1/4", and then this piece right here at the thickest point, measures about an 1 1/4" wide. My local Ram dealership installed a Mopar gooseneck kit and the loops on the rear pucks were so thick that the safety chains to my horse trailer would not close. I repeatedly asked for help with this and to no avail and was referred to local truck parts stores.
