Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff @etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at these Curt Gooseneck Safety Chain Anchors for the Factory Ram Underbed Gooseneck Hitches. Now these safety chain anchors are designed to utilize the puck system that's built into the factory installed gooseneck hitches on your Dodge Ram trucks. These are nice cast steel anchors. It's a durable carbide black powder coat finish.
You can see they use a wide loop opening, which will accept the large gooseneck safety chain hooks. And it's a very simple drop in installation, eliminates the need for any tools. These are pop-in anchors, that'll fit securely into the power pucks that are built into the gooseneck rails for a nice, simple mounting and removal. The two anchors do install into the rear most puck system mounts. So basically to install, what you want to do is first remove the small 5 millimeter lynch pin.
Just pride of ring open, remove the small pin, and then you'll take out the large 12 millimeter pin.And then what you want to do is with these large loops facing the back of the truck, drop them into the rear most mounts, and then rotate the anchors 90 degrees towards the center of the truck. The ring loop should face the center of the truck one on each side. And when you turn them, that locks them sort of into the puck system. And then for extra security, you'll take the 12 millimeter pin, drop it right back in, take your lynch pin, clip the close to secure that. And they're all locked in place ready to go, ready to hook your chain hooks too.
Gross towing weight capacity on these, is 38,000 pounds. Vertical load capacity is 9,500 pounds, but you do need to remember the capacity while it's being limited to that of your hitch.
