Troubleshooting Buzzing Sound from Power Converter in Camping Trailer

Question:

I have a 2012 jayco whitehawk that we purchased a month ago. Last weekend we had it out for the first time. On night 2, I heard a buzzing or electrical sound coming from under the sink area. Low and behold, i found the fuse box. I removed the panel to find the fan not spinning and a buzzing sound from the same area. Is this normal or is the part failing. Can you guide me to the part i may need if it is failing and any other upgraded options if that would be in my best interest. Thank you

That area where the fan is and buzzing sound you referenced is your power converter. That is what converts the 120v AC shore power into the 12v DC power for your lights, fans, etc., and charges/maintains your battery.

To replace that converter with a compatible upgrade unit, you will need to get some more information off the unit. There should be a brand and model number as all are not created equal. If you want to replace the unit with a Go Power RV Converter and Smart Battery Charger - 12V - 45 Amp # 34266168 which will work.
