Multipurpose Trailer Hauls Different Types of Boats and Cargo

MPG535 In Use

This heavy-duty, 2-tier trailer has extensive space to mount an assortment of clamp-on accessories (sold separately). The bottom crossbars offer plenty of room for kayak carriers and canoes. The low-profile lower bars provide a safe height to load heavy boats on the trailer. The upper crossbars work great for cargo boxes, fishing rod holders, and bike racks.

With a 7-1/2' tongue, this trailer offers exceptional clearance during tight turns. The extended tongue also makes it easier to back up the trailer and prevent binding than trailers with shorter tongues.

Submersible LED Trailer Lights

MPG535 LED tail lights

The DOT-approved tail lights on this trailer are fully submersible, so you don't have to worry about damaging the lights when loading and unloading your boat in water. Each tail light has brake, running light, and turn signal functions, as well as side marker lights and reflectors. In addition, these LED lights last longer, burn brighter, and require less power than incandescent bulbs.

Plug-and-Play Trailer Wiring

CE48870 main harness to 4-way

The wiring for this trailer has a simple plug-and-play design, so it doesn't require any cutting or splicing to install. As you assemble the trailer, route the main wiring harness through the trailer tongue and down towards the body of the trailer. Then plug the 4-wire end of the tail light harness into the main harness.

CE48870 4-way plug

Run the wires of the tail light harness along the sides of the trailer frame and plug the individual wires into the matching wires on the side marker lights and the tail lights. The wires are color-coded so that you can easily match them up - no circuit tester is required. Once all of the wires are plugged in, use the included clips to secure the harness to the frame.

CE48870 4-way plug

When you're ready to connect the trailer to your vehicle, simply plug the trailer end of the main harness into the 4-way flat connector on your vehicle.

Leaf Spring Suspension

MPG535 leaf spring suspension

This trailer includes a leaf spring suspension system to limit road shock while you tow. A sturdy steel axle runs beneath the trailer frame. The 2 slipper springs that support the axle flex to absorb the rough motion that can occur when driving over bumpy terrain. Also, the axle, spring hangers, and tie plate are galvanized to resist rust and corrosion.

Quick and Easy Trailer Hookup

MPG535 trigger style coupler

Hooking this trailer to your vehicle is quick and easy. The trailer's coupler connects to a 2" hitch ball, and the included safety chains act as an emergency measure if the coupler accidentally disconnects from your hitch ball. A rubber coated lift handle is mounted to the coupler to provide a solid grip for lifting or maneuvering the trailer. Finally, the skid plate on the underside of the trailer tongue keeps the coupler from touching the ground.

See what our Experts say about this Malone Kayak Trailer

  • Will 14' Hobie Pro Angler Kayak Fit on Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 Tier Trailer
Yes, your 14' Long Hobie Pro Angler Kayak will fit on the Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 Tier Trailer # MPG464-LBT. If you're needing a kayak carrier then I recommend the Malone MegaWing Fishing Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # MPG207 which fits around the crossbars and has a 150 lb weight capacity. Please note that you'll want to put some weight on the other side of the trailer as well to help make sure it sits nice and level.

  • Can Malone MicroSport LowBed 2-Tier Trailer be Submerged
Yes, you can absolutely submerge the Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 Tier Trailer # MPG464-LBT. Not only is the frame made from galvanized steel to prevent corrosion from being in the water, but the lights are submersible as well as they won't be damaged when in the water. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well of the Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 Tier Trailer # MPG464-LBT.

  • Bottom Crossbar Width For Malone 2 Tier LowBed MicroSport Trailer For Hauling Kayaks On Bunk Boards
Yes, to carry your 2 kayaks you will need to add 2 of the Bunk Kit for Malone Trailers # MPG561 to the Malone 2 Tier LowBed MicroSport Trailer # MPG464-LBT. The bottom cross bars are 78" long and are the widest points for the trailer. From the center upright out you will have roughly 38" of crossbar if you choose to mount them perfectly centered on the trailer. This would have your 41" kayak sticking out approximately 3" past the edge of the bottom cross bar which is acceptable. Your Kayak...

  • Can You Adjust the Brackets on the Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer to Decrease Crossbar Spread?
I confirmed with my contact at Malone that the with the EcoLight Sport Trailer # MAL53FR, you will be able to adjust the front u-bolt bracket on the crossbars by about 10 inches maximum (which would only be a 28-1/2 inch spread). However, my contact did confirm that they do not know that exact distance. Unfortunately, even at this approximation, it is not the 24-inch spread you need for your carrier. If you want a sure bet, I recommend the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer - 66" # Y08106. The...

  • How Much Space Between Top and Bottom Crossbars on Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 Tier Trailer?
The Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 # MPG464-LBT has 36" between the top and bottom crossbars. This trailer is the perfect solution for carrying kayaks, paddleboards, bikes, cargo carriers and any other outdoor gear that can be mounted on roof rack style crossbars, all on one trailer. This trailer comes equipped with anchor points on both sets of bars to allow you to secure your gear. With that being said, you may encounter 2 issues that could be prohibitive in carrying your bikes on the bottom...

  • Are Malone 2 Tier LowBed MicroSport Trailer Rear Crossbars Below Fender
That's an excellent question, and you've got a good eye because the crossbars are about an inch lower than the fenders on the Malone 2 Tier LowBed MicroSport Trailer - 78" Crossbars # MPG464-LBT. So if you wanted to lay lumber completely flat you would not be able to, but for things like kayaks it wouldn't be an issue because you could mount them with the Bunk Kit for Malone Trailers - 1 Kayak # MPG561 and they would have plenty of height to go over the fenders. If you really did want...

  • Can The Malone Crossbars and 2nd Tier Crossbars Be Used With a Small Boat Trailer?
We do offer the Crossbars # MPG4001 and 2nd Tier Load Bar System # MPG474 like you see on the Malone 2 Tier LowBed MicroSport Trailer # MPG464-LBT. As these are specifically designed to bolt to the Malone trailer you may have to do some customization to fit on your trailer. You will be able to use the Yakima Crossbar Pads # Y07415 to provide a padding for your kayaks and paddle boards.

  • Recommended Trailer for Kayak and Two Bikes
The Malone MicroSport LowBed 2 Tier Trailer part # MPG464-LBT would be the perfect option for a kayak and two bikes.
