Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the JR Products universal door security strap for pocket doors on your RV. Pocket doors are pretty common in RVs and campers because they don't take up a whole lot of space because they don't swing open and you can just slide them out of the way when you need access, but you also still have a door that's able to close. The downside with that is these are gonna move around as you go down the road, so you do need a way to strap them in place to keep 'em protected and just from sliding open and close. Now many of your RVs and campers will come with these from the factory, but over time they can break down and if maybe it gets a little rowdy, these will rip or tear right here where they're mounted in and you can replace that pretty easily with the JR Products universal door security strap. Now, when you get your new one, it is 18 inches long so you can custom fit it to whatever you need. And that's great too because you don't necessarily just have to use this for pocket doors.

If you wanna use this for curtains or just really any way to secure something up against the wall, this is a good way to do it. It also comes with all the required hardware to get it mounted up. So if this is a new application, instead of just replacing the strap, then you can mount that up with no problems. For installation, you're gonna want to have that door in the closed position and install your snap. It's just a small Phillips screw.

You can do a pilot hole if you need to, but this should go into the wood pretty easily. And that's gonna create the snap attachment to our strap. So we'll just snap that in and then we'll cut it to length. Make sure you have a little bit of extra here. And I'm using the old spot with the new hardware.

So you have a Phillips with this plastic cap. And we'll just go ahead, get this tightened down. You can place the decorative cap over here so it gives it a nice clean look. And just like that, your new strap is replaced. And it may seem like a small, trivial thing, but if yours breaks and your door is sliding open and closed when you're driving, it's gonna make for a little bit louder and potentially damaging trip.
