Single-Piece, Wraparound Jaw
The wraparound, single-piece jaw on this heavy-duty fifth-wheel trailer hitch offers excellent security and stability by surrounding your trailer's king pin. The increased jaw-to-king-pin contact not only creates a stronger connection than you would find with a slide-bar jaw, but it also helps to reduce the rattle and jarring movement that is often experienced when towing a fifth-wheel trailer.
King Pin Safety Features
The jaw of the Husky Silver Series 16K W fifth-wheel trailer hitch will only close when your trailer's king pin is positioned correctly inside the hitch. A trigger plate sits just beneath the jaw. When this plate is pressed by the king pin, the jaw will fully close. Because the king pin must press the trigger plate on the underside of the jaw for the jaw to close, high pinning cannot occur.
A color-coded king pin indicator is built into the handle so that you can easily determine if the jaw is open or closed. Any time that you can see the red tab at the rear of the hitch, the jaw is open. When no red can be seen, you can rest assured that you are properly hitched. Further secure your trailer to your hitch by inserting a padlock (sold separately) through the lockable tab on the handle.

I ordered the four-way tilt Husky 5th wheel head as an upgrade of the old two-way tilt Husky 5th wheel head. I kept the old sliding hitch frame. The upgrade improved the trailer hitching and unhitching experience. Additionally, there seems to be less stress on the trailer pin box and trailer frame from side to side road fluctuations which helps with pickup passenger comfort. I have driven twice to Alaska, one before the hitch upgrade and one after. On very very rough roads, the four-way flexibility of the 5th wheel head is greatly appreciated.

I replaced a 8 year old Husky 16K hitch with the new one (HT31326) and it fit fine. The new Husky 16K hitch is about 15 lbs. more in weight than the old and made a lot stronger in design. Very happy with the choice of product and etrailer. The shipping was right on time and so was the price.

The product works as good as the day I installed it.
Hitch received with no issues and quick shipping. It came in 2 boxes.
Replaced the hitch head on a Husky 16K hitch that I purchased in 2003. The old hitch was still working but I liked the features of the new model - grease zerk, castle nut with keeper, and hitch engagement method. The new one is a little heavier.
There was a little wear on the old hitch because I did not remove the pivot pin and grease it the first few years that I owned the hitch. Having a grease zerk will make it more user friendly.
Order the new fifth wheel hitch on the Thursday before Labor day .It arrived in six days even with the holiday . the new head assembly was a perfect match for my 2001 slider, had the trailer out twice since no problems at all.

After purchasing the four-way tilt Husky 5th wheel head, I purchased a long bed pickup and transferred the Husky head from a slider to standard 15,000 pound Husky legs. The legs were too narrow and shims were included with the legs. I never got the Husky legs with shims to fit the head properly without binding. I was disappointed that the legs were too small in width. Sold the Husky 5th wheel hitch. I now have a Curt 5th wheel hitch which is great.
