Replacement Surge Module for Power Watchdog Surge Protector - 30 Amp

Ordering and shipping went well and the unit arrived in good shape.

When I ordered the Power Watchdog I liked the idea of the replaceable surge module, the LED status lights that I can use to test the power pedestal plug before I connect my trailer to it, and the ability of the unit to measure the voltage and current and bluetooth that information to an app on my phone. Should there be a power surge, this unit will be one more level of protection for the electronics in the trailer.

I connected the Power Watchdog to power today and connected the trailer to it. The LED lights all lit up green indicating all was well. I downloaded and tested the IOS app that comes with the unit. It is basic, but seems to get the job done. I could see the voltage and current draw of the trailer in "reasonable real time". As I turned items off and on in the trailer, the current draw measured by the Power Watchdog would change showing me the draw of all the electical items on at that time.

So far it works as advertised.............I am looking forward to using it on the next camping trip.1271861

After a year, the Power Watchdog continues to work great. I use it a lot to check the condition of the parks power pedestal before I connect my trailer. I also like the fact that I can connect to the unit via the Bluetooth app and monitor the voltage and current being drawn by the trailer. So far the unit works as advertised. I am looking to add some form of cover to the load plug of this unit to help shield it from moisture. I have not had any issues with this, but considering the rain that I camped in during the last trip, I would prefer the electrical connections not be exposed to rain.

I have been looking at this Surge protector for a while now. My brother was camping in a private campground this Spring when he began smelling Smokey. When he went to where he was getting his power from his Surge protector had already fused together. Needless to say it saved his RV. This Watchdog Surge protector since it has Bluetooth can warn me a head of time regarding the Campgrounds wire integrity. Thank you...I have been shopping etrailer sometime since 2009.1148479

This is my second purchase from etrailer. The first was a brake controller as I was new to pulling a camper. Both purchases were delivered flawlessly and quickly. The brake controller was as advertised and has worked like a charm. I am confident the new purchase will too should I need it. (It's a replacement module for a surge protector).1186613

I bought this to have on hand if needed. Great feature to be able to change out the surge protector module on the 30 amp power watchdog. So, have not installed this but, I'm sure glad I won't have to buy a whole new power watchdog if the module wears out.1309377
