Video Transcript for Review of Titan Brake Actuator Parts - Replacement Breakway Battery Switch - T4834500

Ellen: Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Replacement Breakaway Switch for your BrakeRite II from Titan. This is going to be for your brake actuator to make sure that your brakes are applied in your towing vehicle or your towed vehicle whenever you're out on the road. And if something happens, if it comes disconnected, it should pull this pin and then apply the brakes in that vehicle. It's a safety feature to make sure that everybody can come to a complete stop while you're out on the road. So maybe something happened to this. It got damaged, something along the way the cable got cut.

Some of the wiring got cut in here or just frayed, or it's overall not working anymore. A lot of times people will use this as a way to test the system as well.So sometimes that can kind of wear out the switch if you do it too much. So whatever the case might be, this is a direct replacement for that from Titan to make sure that you can still have that breakaway function and stay safe while you're out on the road. So you'll have your electrical connection here. It's just going to be that plug that goes right into the rest of the wiring.

Have this length of cable that's all covered in wireline to help protect that from any kind of issues. You shouldn't have to worry about it rubbing against any other wires and it should keep those safe. And then the switch itself does have a little mounting tab so you can mount that up to a safe, stable spot. So whenever that does pull, that it pulls nice and straight and comes out and it doesn't rip off the whole thing.It does not come with any kind of mounting hardware. So you will have to provide that on your own.

We'll also have our cable coming out to attach to our towing vehicle. So you get a pretty good length here of cable to work with. I'd say you'd get about, oh, three feet, maybe more of that cable. And then about two or three feet of wire going to the actual hydraulic unit. This again works for the Titan BrakeRite II RF and the severe duty brake actuators.

So if you had either of those, this should be that replacement part that you need to get out and rolling. That's pretty much it for our look at the replacement battery breakaway switch.
