- 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Adapter Sits Too Low Are you aware that the # CAB-C5G gooseneck adapters do already offer some height adjustment? By loosening the set bolts, it's possible to raise up the adapter until the top is 16 inches high. Unfortunately, Convert-A-Ball doesn't offer an extension like you're speaking of. Some fifth wheel pin boxes have a height adjustment available. If you have extra bolt holes that would allow the pin box to be lowered, that would provide you some more clearance.

It can still be used despite the bed length of the truck. The only thing the offset does is increase the distance between the back of the truck and the trailer which is more likely to be needed on long bed (as well as flatbed) trucks. The offset does not increase the turning clearance. But if you wanted to do it anyway so that you have an option for either the offset or straight adapter you would need replacement boot # C5G-BOOT.
