Today we're going to be taken a look at the Curt threaded quick link. This sturdy link is going to provide a quick line for chains, cables, ropes or straps. It's the threaded keeper. It's going to screw shut so no tools are required. If you would like to use a wrench to tighten or loosen, you can still do that. It's was accept a 7/16th inch wrench or an 11 millimeter wrench.
The unit's made from a steel construction. It's very strong and durable. It's going to have a zinc coating, so it's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. Now printed directly on the link, it's going to say the working load limit is 880 pounds. It's going to have a diameter of a quarter of an inch.
Now I want you to notice that the threaded portion right here, gives us a little bit larger of a diameter than the actual link part, or shackle part. This part right here is a quarter of an inch, the threaded portion has a diameter of three eighths of an inch. The opening that we have from barrel to the first thread, is going to measure about a quarter of an inch. A few other measurements that I want to go over with you real quick. I did all these measurements with a precision caliper for the most accurate measurements that we could get. I'm going to go ahead and try and show you with the ruler as well.
The opening that we have inside edge to inside edge, that's going to measure about one and seventh eighths of an inch. If we measure this direction, going directly below the barrel, inside edge to inside edge, that's going to measure about nine sixteenths or five eighths, right in that area. Measuring to the barrel inside to inside, we're looking at about a half inch of space. Now the external measurement that we have, the overall length, that's going to measure right around two and three eighths of an inch. Then going this direction, that's going to give us a measurement of about one and three sixteenths or an inch and a quarter, right in that area.
That's going to do it for today's look at the Curt threaded quick link.
