Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Performance Tool's steering wheel tray. It's basically just going to hug up on the underside of your steering wheel like this and give you a sort of table. It's not the most sturdy thing in the world but it could be good for lunches or maybe a laptop if you're working on the go a lot and you need to draft up some estimates for landscaping jobs, any sort of thing like that, where you have a work surface where you're writing things down using laptop. This gives you a more convenient space in your vehicle than maybe trying to reach over to the side or to kind of have it cramped up in your lap here. It just gives you more room.
Let's check it out. So the whole thing is dual sided. This first side is more the meal tray kind of side. We've got a large portion right here, plus a spot for a drink holder. I wanted to test out some of my cups.
This is a large 32 ounce cup and it doesn't fit. Luckily it does fit my cup holder. And then my larger bottle definitely doesn't fit either. And this is full of water right now and you can see, it is at least staying on. The weight isn't messing it up too much.
And then, I've got a pretty big lunch box. This is again, full of stuff right now. And you know, for me, I just put this in the passenger seat probably. But I can easily open it up and get something out of it, like my sandwich. And now, this is a much better place to put it.
I can open it up, leave the container here while I'm holding the sandwich so it's not falling in my lap or going on the floor. And then if I need to, I can flip it over. And now I've got a more flat work surface. This portion here isn't recessed as much so it's good for maybe a pad of paper or a laptop. There's plenty of room for this small notepad here. And on the side there's even a spot for a pen that'll kind of hold it in place too. So that's definitely more the work focus side. As far as specific dimensions go. From outside edge to outside edge, it's gonna be 16 1/2 inches. And then from the steering wheel out to me, it's 8 1/4 inches. This little spot for the cup holder is about 2 3/4 inches of diameter across. So I think that'd probably be good for any sort of like drive thru cup so it'd fit there well, or maybe just a regular plastic water bottle but maybe a little small for those larger usable ones like I showed you. And overall, it's not the most sturdy thing in the world, but it definitely serves its purpose. If you need a place to have a writing surface or just want that extra space for your lunch box, it's gonna help out. It's a lightweight plastic so it doesn't take up much room. It's easy to clean. I can just pop it here and still close my door whenever I need to. It doesn't get in the way. And it's just good to have around if you need it. Thanks for watching..
