The axles that I ordered last year are still working out great. But even better than the parts was the service I got from etrailer. It was so great working with a company who took the time to listen to my project and help me get the right parts I needed, especially coming right off the heels of a terrible experience dealing with bad information and wrong parts from a competitor. Even with some damages in shipping, the returns/ and replacements were no hassle, with most issues being quickly resolved and not even costing me any additional downtime. As a contractor keeping a small fleet rolling, your competency and professionalism have made me a customer for life!! You guys at etrailer will be my first stop for trailer parts.

Just what I ordered

Just what I ordered. Fast delivery

by:

Received my parts today and after examining everything all looks good.
The quality of parts looks excellent and can't wait to start installing them.
Shipping was fast and arrived as they said.
Great company to buy with.
Will was very helpful and very knowledgeable about parts.
If you call would definitely ask for Will.

by:

Perfect fit as described! Uploaded picture for proof. So far i couldent be happier with etrailer.com, great prices and fast shiping. I haven't had an issue with anything so i have no opinion as far as customer service goes. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

just what I needed

by:

Not much to say, they are consistent and fit the axle tube well. Clean welding material.

by:

Fit perfect

by:

Products were as advertised, worked well and installation went as planned. Accomplished task - moved under hung leaf springs to over axle (tandem drop) on older horse trailer, to regain bumper clearance - new truck sits higher than old, also allowed extended goose neck to eliminate tail gate damage, while leveling trailer (nose no longer stuck in air). I would purchase again without hesitation.

The parts arrived quickly and were an exact fit, thank you!

I replaced my leaf springs, drums, brakes and added the Dexter E-Z Suspension kit to my Keystone Cougar Fifth Wheel trailer last year. This was my first time working with etrailer and I can’t say enough about how well it all went from the ordering to the install.
Tammie P did a amazing job with knowing what parts would work best on my trailer. Tammie also gave me updates on my deliveries that I appreciated. I had a trip planned short after I received my parts. So having someone at their end checking on arrival dates helped. In the future I will definitely use etrailer for all my trailer needs. Thanks again for all the help! Great Team....

I installed a set of these spring mount brackets one year ago and I am glad I purchased it from etrailer. I purchased it on line just to make sure it would work on the 1964 axle that I was going to weld it to in order to complete the install of a new set of springs that I also purchased from etrailer. Everything fit perfectly and etrailer is now my go to for all my trailer needs. George J. was very professional and knew the product(s) would work. And it did!

Thank you George and etrailer.

Product was exactly as described. Used the info on website for location of mounts. Couldnt be happier.
Awesome customer service as well.

The seats were just what I needed Last year I moved the trailer
springs from the bottom of the axel to the top when I did I had
to turn the axel end to end it caused the trailer to wear tires out .
brakes to wear out .I am turning axel back and welding new seats
leaving hubs running right. Back to factory only on top of axel.

Thank You

by:

I am using two second hand axles for my trailer and the spring seats were in the wrong place. They were hard to find because I didn't know what to call them, but I was really grateful they were available. They will complete the installation of the axles and are sturdy and cut perfectly.

part still working. very happy

by:

I used these to flip the axles on my 2005 Weekend Warrior FS3000 30 ft toy hauler. This was by far the best price around and they worked well for my application. I did have to hit them with a grinder to clean up some burrs so they would sit flush but other than that they are great.

by:

I had ordered some parts online to rebuild the suspension on one of our trailers. Customer service called me a short time later to inform me that they were out of stock on some items, they asked if it was possible to substitute some items. She was able to find the exact parts I needed in a different kit. The parts came within 3 days, very well packed, and they fit perfectly! This is the 3rd time I've ordered from etrailer and they have exceeded my expectations every time. EXCELLENT customer service and quality parts.

  • How to Correct Trailer Whose Spring Hangers Do Not Line Up With Spring Seats
You will need to have the spring seats removed to have them or new spring seats welded to your axle at the correct locations to match your trailer's hanger spacing. For a 3-inch round axle rated between 5200- and 7200-lbs use part # TRSS300; for a 2-3/8-inch diameter 3500-lb axle use part # TRSS238; for a 1-3/4-inch diameter 2000-lb round axle use part # TRSS175. If you cannot re-position the spring seats to match the hanger spacing then you can have a qualified welder install new material...

  • Replacement 7K Trailer Axle With 92 Inch Hub Face and 74-1/2 Inch Spring Centers
The only 7K axles we offer with straight spindles are the Dexter # 8327834 axle you'd looked at and the same axle with brake drums/hubs, part # 8327834-EB. These axles have a hub face to hub face distance of 95 inches and a spring seat center to center distance of 80 inches. These axles could be safely altered so they'd work for you. Using this axle would only move your wheels out by 1-1/2 inches on each side which will not present a problem. The spring center distance isn't a huge deal,...

  • What Are The Dimensions Of The Axle Spring Seat for 3 Inch Round Trailer Axles
The Dimensions of the Axle Spring Seat 3 inch Round, item # TRSS300, are 1-7/8 inches wide by 4 inches long. The radius, where the 3 inch axle sits, is on center and the 1/2 inch hole is centered in the part.

  • Available 89-Inch Trailer Axles and Spring Seat Spacing
All of our axles that have an 89-inch hub face spacing (see diagram, please) also have a spring center spacing of 74-inches. None of our axles has a 76-inch spring center spacing; the nearest ones are either 74 or 78-1/4-inches apart. But we can still help you with a new axle. You can refer to the linked page to see all of our axles. First select the weight rating of the axle you need. Our 89-inch axles such as # 8327830 are rated for up to 6K. • Availability Of a 86-1/2 Inch 5,200LB Axle With Spring Seats 68-1/2 Inches In Over Slung Position
While we do not order custom axles we do have the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 8327816-EB which you can have 2 Spring Seats # TRSS300 welded on for your 68.5" over slung position. This should save you some time on waiting for a custom axle to be built. The U-Bolt Kit # APUBR-8 will allow you to attach the larger 3" diameter axle to your leaf springs.

  • Do Dexter Axles With 86-1/2 Inch Hub Face Have 71-1/2 Inch Spring Centers
Each of the 86-1/2 inch axles we offer, such as the 5,200 lb Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 8327816-EB and 6,000 lb part # 8327826-EB have 71-1/2 inch spring centers. So what you would have to do is get new spring seats welded on at the correct position, and for that use Spring Seat for Typical 5,200-lb to 7,200-lb, Round Trailer Axles with 3" Diameter # TRSS300.

  • Replacing Lippert 5,200 lb Axle with Dexter 5,200 lb Axle 86.5 Inches Hub Face to Hub Face
The Lippert 5,200 lb axle you have has a hub face to hub face of 86.5 inches which is identical to the Dexter # 8327816 you referenced, however the 68.5 inch spring seats of your Lippert axle are not identical to the 71.5 inch spring centers of the Dexter axle. They do use the same spindles so the bearings and grease seal will all match. You would simply need to weld spring seats onto the axle at the 68.5 inch on center locations using # TRSS300.

  • Available 94-Inch Long Axles and Matching 3-Inch Diameter Spring Seats
We do offer 7K-rated beam axles in the 94-inch hub-face-to-hub-face length you mention, shown on the linked page, and these have their spring seats spaced apart on center at either a 78-1/4-inch or 79-inch dimension. Since we do not produce these axles ourselves we cannot make one for you with different spacing but you can have a local trailer/welding shop install new spring seats at the specific 70-inch spacing you need. Our spring seat to fit this 3-inch axle diameter, part # TRSS300,...

  • Can Spring Seats on Dexter Replacement 5200LB Axle Be Installed Atop the Axle Rather Than Underneath
You certainly can install a replacement 5.2K axle like # 6340624 by using new spring seats atop the axle. I'd recommend using part # TRSS300 but it's recommended that they at least be tacked into place so they stay put.

  • Replacement for 95 Inch Long 7,000 Pound Dexter Axle
For a replacement axle I recommend the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with 4" Drop E-Z Lube Spindles - 95" Long - 7,000 lbs # 8327860. I'm assuming by "4 inch" you meant a 4" drop since 7k axles have a diameter of 3". This axle will be the same as your current axle with the exception of the spring-center-to-spring-center length which is 79-1/4". The spring center measurement not matching up is fairly common but there is a solution. You will need to have the spring seats cut off of the axle...

  • Do You Carry a 96" Hub Face To Hub Face Axle?
Currently a 95" hub face to hub face Axle # 8327860 is the widest we carry. This particular axle has a 79-1/4" spring seat measurement that can be moved by cutting off the seats and having new Seats # TRSS300 welded on. Depending on the age of your trailer and the manufacturer there may be a tag with the axle information that I can confirm the manufacturer dimensions and weight capacity to ensure you get the correct replacement.

We do not sell trailers as you described. You may be able to find a suitable trailer at a camper retailer near you. If you have double eye leaf springs on your trailer and the axles are either 2-3/8 inch or 3-inch diameter you may want to consider over/under kits. I recommend the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit, part # K71-384-00, which is designed for the 3,500-lb axle with the 2-3/8 inch diameter. • Replacement for 7k Lippert Axle That is 95" Long With 80-1/2" Spring Center
The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles # 8327834 will work as a replacement for your Lippert axle. The only thing that doesn't match up is the spring center measurement at 80". With only 1/4" difference on each side this shouldn't be a problem but it is better if it matches exactly. If you would rather make it 80-1/2" you could always cut off the spring seats and weld on # TRSS300 to match the Lippert.

  • Solution for Gaining Clearance on 2010 Xtra Tuff Trailer
You can definitely use the # e35SR. As you said, you can cut off the spring seats and weld on new ones to match your 78" measurement. This is not a service we offer, but we do have the spring seats # TRSS300 available. Also, swapping out the springs and shackles isn't going to do what you want. The other option would be to flip the axle assuming your leaf springs are currently under the axle. For that you would need the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00. This...

  • Can New Spring Seats Be Welded Onto The Top Of An Trailer Axle Beam
Yes, you'd just need to reach out to a qualified welder and have them weld on spring seats like part # TRSS300 to the top side of the Trailer Axle Beam with Easy Grease Spindles # e45GR. It's super common to do for people who have an underslung setup and want to raise the height of the trailer. When you remove the old axle you'll also want to replace the u-bolts with ones like part # CE23003 since they get stretched when torqued down and shouldn't be reused.

From what I have found, you have 4,400 lb axles on your 2010 Keystone Cougar 26BHSWE. Your axles have a hub face measurement of 85" and a 68-1/2" spring center. Unfortunately, 4,400 lb axles are no longer being made so you will also be replacing the hubs and drums. When choosing a replacement axle you typically want to match the hub face measurement. You will also need a higher capacity axle (5,200 lb) since moving down in capacity wouldn't be enough for your 7,800 lb GVWR. I recommend...

  • Changing 3,500 Pound Trailer Axles to 5,200 Pound Axles
The first thing to consider is if the axle(s) are actually bent. Trailer axles have a bow in them so they are higher at the center than at the ends. When under load the axles straighten out some. That is part of how they get their capacities. If the axles are bent from damage then that is another story. Like you said the 5,200 pound axles that we have include spring seats that are on the bottoms of the axles. In order to have the spring stacks on top of the axles all you would need to...

While we have an option for you, there isn't a 5,200 lb axle we offer that measures both 86-1/2 inches hub face to hub face and 68-1/2 inches spring center to spring center. So what you can do is get an axle with an 86-1/2 inch hub face measurement and weld on new spring seats at the 68-1/2 inch measurement you need.
