the product is great which is why purchased it to rebuild my axles on my gooseneck car hauler. I was greatly disappointed in the shipping which turned out to be more of a poorly planned joke. First product was back ordered and I was never informed of the 1 month lead time it took. I only got emails pushing the shipping date back one week at a time. I finally reached out and was Informed they were waiting for the manufacture to build the product. When I finally got the 4 spindles the box was absolutely destroyed. Spindles were loosely put in box allowing 40 lbs of metal to roll freely which tore the box to pieces. Now I have spindles that are missing 3 out of 4 castle nuts and washers. Two of the four spindles have dents and small imperfections from them bouncing around on each other. Packaging needs to be seriously looked at

Great Place to buy buy trailer needs&Parts. Thank You, Frank Miranda

by:

The spindle wasn't quite the 2 1/4 " therefore it slowed down the welding process. overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of it.The ship[ping was extremely fast. Much better quality than the factory one that snapped in half.Time will tell!!

by:

5.2k-7k axles are 3"OD and 2 1/2" inside diameter on a standard #42 axle. My fault I didn't cut the old one off first. You had better check before ordering. I have no idea where this one would be used.

  • Can 3500lb Axle Be Modified To Have A 6000lb Axle Rating?
I have a different option for you, but changing the axle tube diameter will not increase the axle capacity as the new weakest link would be the spindles which would still have a 3500lb capacity. You could start from scratch and use two of the #42 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Flange for 5.2K to 7K Trailer Axles # TRU37FR which have a combined 7000lb weight capacity, and would allow you to use 5200-6000lb Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-655-6-EZ-K which has the 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern, and Electric...

  • Spindle Recommendation for Fitting Hub with 6 on 5-1/2 inch Bolt Pattern
The 42 spindle part # TRU37FR that you referenced is compatible with hubs that have 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt patterns like the # 8-201-5UC3-EZ. If you need brake assemblies as well you'd want the part # AKEBRK-7-SA for a left and right hand side that matches the spindle and hubs.

  • How To Determine the Weight Capacity For a Trailer Axle with Spindle Dimensions that Match 42
A trailer as old as yours would be pretty hard to determine an overall capacity for, but since you have 6 lug hubs that would indicate by todays standards you have a capacity most likely between 5,200 and 6k which matches pretty close to the spindle dimensions you listed as well. The spindle dimensions match the 42 spindle like the part # TRU37FR which has a 5,200 lb capacity.

  • Who Can Replace Trailer Axle Spindle
Trailer spindles should only be installed by a qualified fabricator with trailer axle experience who has the necessary equipment to square up a trailer spindle. It's not a project for someone who's pretty good at welding since if the spindle is off by just a little bit you will have all sorts of alignment issues.

I have an option that may work out for you as we do not have any axles that will have the same hub face dimensions as your Lippert axle in your 2019 K-Z Sportsmen Classic 180TH. You can have your drop spindle that is currently welded on your Lippert axle cut off and replace it with a #42 E-Z Lube Spindle w/ Flange # TRU37FR straight spindle. • Trailer Hub & Spindle For 7,000 lb Axle With 12 Inch Electric Brakes
First, thanks for all that detailed information, it was very helpful. And we can get you parts for your trailer, though the issue is that there isn't an available hub for your spindle due to what you mentioned - the uncommon 501349 bearing, which is for older agricultural spindles. There also isn't a 7,000 lb-rated hub with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern to go with your 7k-rated Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly # 23-464 and # 23-465. • How Can the #42 E-Z Lube Spindle Fit Both a 5.2K and 7K Axles
There are usually only a few small difference between a 5,200 lb and a 7,000 lb trailer axle but not every two are the same even with the same capacity as different manufacturers make them to different specs. The actual axle thickness can play a role in capacity as well as the brakes/hubs. The #42 E-Z Lube Spindle part # TRU37FR can work with either so long as the inner diameter is 2-1/4".

Other times it can be from having a trailer that's not sitting level. To address this we have a help article I attached to this page that covers how to pick out the correct ball mount.
