Quality heavy hitch shank

by:

Item received with poor packaging, rusted and scratched. Had to prep and paint to make look new.

I am sorry that it arrived in this condition. Let me send this over to customer service for them to look into some sort of compensation.

by:

very heavy duty
bolt holes correctly
spaced for my wt distribution hitch

by:

This is a perfect replacement for my blue ox 2 inch receiver shank. This shank is 2.5 inches and fits great. No more sleeve to take up the space from 2inch to 2.5 inch.

by:

Incredibly fast delivery! I was amazed first of all by how fast I received it but most of all the quality of the product. I highly recommend using them

by:

Hey George, if this mail goes thru. I adapted a set up for the hitch when i park. I used 2 pieces of welded angle iron and welded the adapter to them. Then i bolted the assembled part to the a frame, behind battery box.

by:

The 2 1/2” shaft works great on my F 250. It eliminates the need for a sleeve when using a 2” shaft. The 2 1/2” shaft fit my existing Equalizer hitch with no problems.

by:

Fits perfectly, now the slop is gone from the 2” shank and the 2”/2 1/2” adapter. Actually arrived a day early.

No problems, fits and works as expected.

by:

Stepped up from the 2" version of this shank after stepping up to a truck with a 3" receiver. Exact replacement for the old shank, albeit with less play due to reducers. Will be towing a 38' TT from AZ to IL in the upcoming week and am now looking a bit more forward to the tow!

by:

I have been using a spacer to increase my 2 inch shank to a 2 1/2 inch. Too much play was starting to occur in and it was noticeable on starts and stops when towing my airstream. This fit perfectly, and was easy to replace the original 2 inch shank. Shipping was easy arrived on time and very satisfied with my purchase. I’ve ordered other items from each trailer and they have always been exactly as I ordered it on time.
Thank you E trailer Dr. Dean .

Great product

by:

The product does what it was made to do;however the condition it was received looked used. Much of the paint was scratched off. The box arrived in excellent condition so it must have been shipped that way. You buy something new you don't expect to have to paint it.

by:

The communication on packing and delivery was great
The product is exactly what I needed

by:

Shaft is pretty solid and hefty , fits the hitch pretty tight , everything swapped over from other shaft I was given when I bought the camper and had almost 2.5 inches of play including the insert from 2.5 to 2 inch.

by:

Just what I ordered. Arrived quickly!

by:

Excellent, this product allows me to set my ball at the correct height to pull my trailer level

by:

Good service

on point

by:

Order was fast and quick. I wanted to upgrade the hitch and arms to the 14K from the 10K Equalizer set up. The arms are larger giving me the added lift I needed. I also was tired of the additional play in my Ford OEM receiver so I ordered from them the 21/2" stinger. I transferred hardware over including the ball and everything is much better. I have little to no play now trailer is level and all sway is gone. Thank you etrailer for always recommending the right products and having what I need. I will always use you and recommend you to all my friends!

by:

Mike helped me choose the proper shank, we ordered it and it was delivered quickly. The process was quick and easy.

by:

Part looked used, scratches and slight rust. Was ready to send back, but painted it to correct the imperfections.

by:

Super heavy duty. Exactly what I wanted.

by:

My 2" square shank with 2" to 2 1/2" adapter was very sloppy in my Silverado 2500 HD receiver and I noticed the pin hole was beginning to elongate slightly due to the slop. This 2 1/2" weight distribution shank proved to be a direct replacement for the Eaz Lift WD set up I have and works perfectly. It fits very well into my receiver with minimum slop and the corners are beautifully machined. I'm sure the pin hole elongation problem will be minimized now. Great product and recommended.

Works great. No issues.

by:

I'm thankful to find this shank that is already adapted to fit my stock heavy duty hitch which is 1/2" larger than what is common on most tow packages. Being able to use this instead of an adapter collar is a pure solid feel, one less part to keep track of and a fair price. Thank you for the quick shipping and good customer service to ensure me this was the part I was looking for.

This is one heavy duty shank. The initial adjustments I made to it have stayed in place and no back off of any bolts.

by:

Great price and was delivered a day early! I had been putting off upgrading from a 2 inch shank to a 2.5 inch shank for years.. What a mistake! Do it now!. Removing the internal 2 inch shank reducer in the hitch and installing the 2.5 shank has made the towing much smoother and secure. I should have done this years ago!!! Just completed a 1500 mile round trip, what a game changer!....

by:

Bought a chevy 2500,had a 21/2" receiver. Replaced the shank instead of using 2" insert, this way no extra play in receiver. Works great.

Jerry B.

  • Choosing Correct Weight Distribution Shank
To determine the amount of drop you'll need your replacement shank to have, take a height measurement from the top inside edge of the receiver tube to the ground, then measure from the bottom of the trailer's coupler to the ground (make sure trailer is level when taking the measurement) then subtract the coupler height from the hitch height. The result is the amount of drop you'll need. We do offer weight distribution shanks for 2-1/2 inch receivers, and the hole spacing for the weight...

  • Best Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch for 1,150 lb Tongue Weight and 2-1/2 Inch Hitch
We can definitely get you set up correctly, and let's start with the Equal-i-zer itself, and this is absolutely the best overall choice for a weight distribution hitch for a number of different reasons. First is its sway control system, which is exceptional relative to other systems because it uses 4 points of sway control via friction in the spring bars and head unit (compared to 2 points on other systems), which ensures you never have to worry about your trailer swaying. It also uses...

It is possible to switch out the 2" weight distribution shank to a 2-1/2" shank like part # EQ90-02-4900. To figure out the amount of rise/drop you may need in a weight distribution shank you would need to do some measuring. I recommend to measure from the top of the hitch on your truck to the ground. Then measure from the bottom of the trailer coupler to the ground. The difference between those two measurements is the amount of rise/drop needed. If your coupler height is greater, you...

The reducer sleeve does need to be a bit smaller than the interior dimension of the receiver or it could become stuck. Typically a bit of 'slop' between the shank and the receiver or in this case, the reducer and shank isn't much of a concern with a weight distribution system because the spring bars of the system are applying a good deal of upward leverage against the receiver. This is almost always enough leverage to prevent the shank from rattling around. Not in your case, however. Since...

That is the loaded tongue weight of your trailer, along with the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle on your tow vehicle. The tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight, so for now we will assume 1,000-1500 lbs assuming you're at 10,000 lbs. You will need to find your actual tongue weight to be sure since this is just the capacity of your trailer. For the best sway control,...
