Correct Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System for 8,500 lb GVWR Trailer
Question:
My trailer is gross weight of 8500, which one should I go with? Im thinking the 12000 GVWR and 1200 TW. Also do they come with a 3inch shank?

Expert Reply:
The correct Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System for a trailer with 8,500 lb GVWR is 12K, part # EQ37120ET for 2" shank or part # EQ37121ET for 2-1/2" or 3" shank. If you have a 2-1/2" receiver then you will also need the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank part # EQ90-02-4700. If you have a 3" receiver then you will still need the Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank but you will need to use your 3" to 2" adapter as well, you can use your 2-1/2" to 2" adapter if you have a 2-1/2" receiver. There is no 3" shank for the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System.
If you don't have the adapters you can use the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve, part # BWRHXA2183 for 3" to 2-1/2" or part # BWRHXA2182 for 2-1/2" to 2".
