Availability of Replacement Trailer Hitch Mounting Flanges for Rusted Hitch
Question:
I have a hitch on my 1998 astro. used to pull my boat . over the years the hitch has become soaked in salt water. The end plates between the frame and the hitch draw bar have failed . Is it possable to purchase just the end plates? Thanks.

Most of the trailer hitches offered for your 1998 Chevrolet Astro Van, which can be seen on the link provided, feature one-piece welded construction. One exception is the Curt # C13035, which has bolted-on mounting flanges. The two mounting flanges on these are not offered as replacement parts. My contact at Curt confirmed this for me.
We offer both 1-1/4-inch Class II and 2-inch Class III hitches for your Astro Van and the link provided will allow you to select a new one. The linked article on hitch classes may help you decide which type will best serve your requirements.
I also linked two articles concerning hitch installation tips.
