Recommended Hitch for a 2023 Kia Telluride Using a Exo Swing Away Storage System

Question:

Jerred, Thank you for the reply. I noticed the stealth hitch is 600lbs tongue weight and the standard hitch holds 750lbs...is that an issue for using the Yakima EXO Swing Away 2 Bike Rack w/ Enclosed Cargo Carrier - 2" Hitches Item # Y34ZR? Additionally, I assume ground clearance is lower with the stealth hitch...any issues there with the EXO? Thanks! Tim

No, problem Tim! Happy to help! Regardless of what hitch you go with you're going to be limited by your Telluride's tongue weight capacity, which is the downward pressure put on the hitch. I looked yours up and a 2023 Kia Telluride tops out at 500 lbs. It is common amongst hitch manufacturer's to overrate their hitches. You will want to go off of the lowest components ability which in this case is your Kia.

The Draw-Tite item # DT32RR sits slightly higher at 14-1/2" over the Stealth Hitch item # 391KIATELL20 at 14". Both will give you sufficient clearance for the EXO Swing Away Storage System like item # Y74ZR. Not sure which one or configuration you're looking at but item # Y74ZR tops out at 337 lbs fully loaded. Both of these hitches will work great.
