Who Can Clear an Integrated Brake Controller Code on a 2011 Ram 3500
Question:
I just purchased a 2011 Ram 3500 which is equipped with a factory brake controller. I have a message in the Driver Information Center that says the trailer brake service is needed. How do I clear this message?

Take your truck to your local Ram dealer. Some of the 2011 model Rams had issues with the integrated brake controllers. Yours might not be one of them, but they are the ones who can clear that code and will be able to tell you why the code popped up.
If you installed a P3 Brake Controller part # 90195 that you referenced on your truck you would also need to go to a Ram dealer to have them reconfigure the TIPM so that you can get rid of that code and use the # 90195. Check out the FAQ article I attached on using an aftermarket brake controller on a 2010 and up Ram trucks with integrated controllers.
