Is Removal Of The Bed Necessary To Install B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck on 02 Ram 2500 or 09 Ram 3500
Question:
I apologize if this was asked before - I could not find the info. I am ordering a BandW gooseneck hitch for a 2002 Ram 2500 extended cab short bed, and one for a 2009 Ram 3500 SRW Mega cab short bed. I am wondering if it requires the bed to be removed on either or both these trucks to install these gooseneck hitches. thank you in advance

Installation of both the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1394 for your 2002 Ram 2500 and # BWGNRK1308 for your 2009 Ram 3500 Mega Cab short bed will not require the bed to be lifted or disconnected in any way. The instructions for both do mention a lifting device is recommended but this is only for holding the center hitch section under the bed while you bolt it up to the cross rails.
I recommend getting a Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # HM42137 for each of your trucks so you will be able to connect the 7-way in the bed side versus running it over the tail gate and down to the bumper.
We also have a 4" Offset Ball # BWGNXA4085 which will give you a bit more turning clearance depending on the size of your trailers you will be hauling.
