With the B&W Turnoverball underbed gooseneck trailer hitch you get the best of both worlds. When you go to tow, the Turnoverball creates a sturdy, dependable connection with your gooseneck trailer. And when you're done towing, you can stow the ball upside down in the hitch to get full bed access and a clean appearance.
The durable steel hitch ball included with the Turnoverball system secures in the hitch with a sturdy, 5/8" thick steel pin that is incorporated into the end of the operating handle. To lock the ball in place, drop it into the hitch hole in the bed of your truck. Then rotate the handle in your driver's-side wheel well counterclockwise until the latch engages. When the latch is engaged, the spring-loaded pin on the end of the handle will be inserted all the way through the base of the hitch ball, forming a strong, solid connection and ensuring absolute security when you're towing.
When you're done towing, remove the hitch ball by simply pulling the handle out as far as it will go and then rotating it clockwise until it unlatches. Remove the ball, flip it upside down, and drop it back into the ball hole of the hitch. Then reengage the latch to secure the stowed ball in place.
Unlike typical gooseneck balls - which have round bases - the Turnoverball hitch ball is designed with a square base. This makes latching the ball in the hitch easier because the base won't rotate inside of the hitch like a round base might, so lining the pin up is a snap. The base of the ball also fits tightly within the ball hole during storage. Because only the corners of the base contact the sides of the socket, any dirt or grime that gets into the hitch will fall through the socket, thus helping to prevent any buildup that could cause the ball to seize up in the hitch.
Simple, Custom Installation
This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle. The included mounting brackets bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame. While some modification is required - you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole in your bed for the hitch ball and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops - there is no need to weld onto or to drill into your frame.
Once you have the hitch brackets and body installed, set up the operating handle. This handle is designed to be accessed from the rear driver's-side wheel well. On the end of the handle is the heavy-duty steel pin that secures the hitch ball.
B&W makes it easy to tow just about anything. With the many adapters and accessories available, the Turnoverball can be made to work with almost any gooseneck trailer. Hitch balls are available that have a built-in rise, an offset, and even a different connection type. Add on the Companion fifth-wheel hitch - which attaches directly to the Turnoverball with no other parts required - and you can tow your fifth-wheel trailer.

Square ball base won't turn in hitch.I’ve bought a few small items from etrailers. This gooseneck attachment is the first major purchase. With all the stuff out there on the Internet, etrailer is direct to the point for vehicle for fitment, tutorial videos, and competitive pricing. Shipping as fast too. B&W fit to the frame simple and cutting the bed was easily done. I have 10,000 miles on this hitch without issue. 2000 Dodge Ram
Everything worked out great the only problem is the handle to pull the pin out is not long enough to go outside the wheel well so I had to add three more inches onto it other than that great product thank you very much
My order showed up, box was mangled and ripped, all mounting hardware is missing. I'm supposed to have this installed at the end of the week and on top of spending 600+ dollars on the hitch now I have to go buy all hardware to mount it. Wish something could just come in one piece and all there, and not be all scratched up and missing parts. Unfortunately I wasn't home or I would have refused the delivery and sent it back for replacement
This is my 3rd B&W gooseneck now, 2 for 2nd gen Rams and 1 for a 3rd gen Ram. Every time they come banged up with the powdercoat peeling and gouged because they are literally thrown in a box. No bubble wrap or foam wrapped around the brackets. Just metal on metal banging around in a box. etrailer doesn't even package them within a box so the brackets end up going through the package with the edges being banged up. I get it, its a hitch but at the same time its only a matter of time before it rusts and then the powdercoat lifts in sheets and peels off. Every B&W gooseneck I've bought I have had to address it and refinish it. Sad that you pay for a premium product and they can't even package it with pride. Honestly what does it take to wrap the 5 pieces in foam and use bags or bubble wrap to take the empty space up so the components aren't banging around of each other.
The product works great and was easy to install. The ball assembly does freeze in, so you have to cover it up in wet freezing weather.
I've had the hitch for a year and I love it, especially paired with the 5th wheel companion hitch. Installed in a 1995 ram 2500
I had the truck restored front to back. The box/bed is in the paint shop so putting the hitch on is even easier. Assembly of the hitch looking at the picture from paperwork, extremely easy. Bolting on to the truck frame easy for hitch mounting holes are cut in correct spot for frame holes so no drilling is needed on truck frame. Bolt the side frame of the hitch to truck frame loosely, then put top section already bolted together loosely on to truck frame tighten all bolts down tight and done. Be careful on starting bolts for paint on inside of the threads makes it hard to start. If you have a tap and die set in SAE 1/2 inch National Course this would work good to clean paint off inside of the threads so bolts start easier. Then you have two choices for your hitch being directly above the rear axle or a bit forward toward the cab of the rear axle. The choice being made by the bolt pattern of the hitch frame. Four bolts holes per side only two are needed. Customer purchasing the hitch has to decide on this decision when they put the hitch on. A great heavy duty goose neck hitch made in USA for the price being paid!
Installed hitch looks it came that way from the factory.
Difficulty level 4 out of 5 for a DIY'er working alone. The front-to-back measurement in the bed is critical for drilling the 4" hole. The measured distance given in the instructions leaves little room for error in the forward direction. Better to measure a little short, than a little long!
As advertised, there was no drilling required in the frame rails, but I did have to remove the frame alignment tabs on both sides of the bed; Sawzall or cutoff wheel required.
In the end; it was a full day's project, but well worth the effort!
My order showed up fast, and minus me having wheel well guards in my vehicle the process was very easy and was done quick I would recommend this product for anyone out there. Thank you B&W
Everything about the B&W has been pure quality, the fit/ finish to the materials. The install was smooth sailing, and there were no issues. I'm a technician, so having the proper tools made all the difference. I used the following, Air drill, 3/8" & 1/2" impact gun, and the use of multiple extensions/ sockets. I also installed the Air Ride air bag kit at the same time and it worked with the B&W, with minor fit-up
I've used the gooseneck several times, first time out was a 1,500 mile trip to FL each way hooked to a 22' equipment trailer. Trailer and load was roughly 14,000 lbs, no complaints.
B&W goose neck hitch is wonderful, need to people to make installation easier.
Mine is in a short WB Q cab ram with tool box. no problems pulling equipment or hay trailers. Not the first one I had installed so I cut a small notch to slide the bracket through, makes it much easier. Hope photo shows where I cut, does not wreaking bed structure. Don't settle for cheaper go with QUALITY, best price I found was etrailer.
This B&W gooseneck installed easily on my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 in a little under 4 hours by myself. The only drilling required is for the holes in the bed for the receiver and the safety chain hooks. I'd definitely recommend a tip I saw online-- use a 3/4" piece of plywood as a template/stabilizer when you cut the 4" hole in the bed because the hole-saw will want to bite and grab badly on the bed without it. Quality product made in the USA by B&W, this is my 3rd B&W hitch and they will last forever. I will use this and another in my wife's truck so we can have one fifth wheel hitch (Companion) that will fit both trucks. Great service as always from etrailer. HIGHLY recommended.
Thanks!
My b&w gooseneck hitch has been a great product. I've owned it a year now and have zero issues with it. When I installed it everything fit nice and tight and lined up with no issues. Ball always works and turns over without getting stuck like other brands I've had before. The paint is holding up great and still looks new. I reccomend this hitch. Totally worth the extra money spent!
Shipped quickly, everything in box to install hitch!

Unit fit perfectly and works good
This is a great product, the installation went almost exactly according to the videos that you watch beforehand. Except it took about twice as long as the video said which was okay I always do things a little slower. Only problem I had is the rear lbar when it was twisted into position lifted the bed of the truck about 3/8 of an inch. Knowledge of basic mechanics and the structure of your vehicle is necessary to successfully install this hitch.
Excellent product, very strong, great quality steel and grade bolts.
Installed it on my 2002 Dodge Ram. Very simple, and it took about 3 hours start to finish. I applied Red threadlocker to all nuts and bolts, and checked them 3 months after installation. I didn't connect the quick release arm, due to my bed having inner wheelwell skirts, but I just put a ziplock bag over my ball when not towing. The kit works great, the ball is high grade alloy. I was slightly concerned because I tow alot over the Rockies, but it's been very reliable. Thanks B&W, I recommend you to my friends out there!
Just finished installing the B & W goose neck hitch on my Dodge. Install was relatively easy as the bed was off in preparation for a flatbed. Everything lined up without any issues. All welds were superb, with some appearing to be robotically done. Directions were clear but better photos of assembly would be nice. Too dark and small.
My son and grandson put it in while I read the instructions it went very well. We had trouble because this was a 1995 truck and the truck bed was bent down from over the years of use. Also it help’s to clean the threads on the front piece where the powder coating had gotten into them. This is my 3rd truck that I have used a B&W hitch in very well made product. Thank you.
I've always liked the B&W hitches.
The hitch makes is possible for me to have full use of my truck bed when its not being used for our 5th wheel.
Customer service was great and the item was received in a timely manner
Very pleased with the product and etrailer
Five stars on ease of the install I haven’t used it yet. I’m sure the instruction said this, but make sure you pre-thread your bolt holes with a provided bolt into the holes for the flat crossbeam because of the paint will make it very difficult. I had to pull mine back out because I was started stripped the threads but after that, everything went smooth.
Nicely engineered hitch, powder coated, very tight tolerance to fit on RAM truck. I was able to install it on my own without a lift, used blocks to support it while attaching bolts, although an extra pair of hand would have been nice. Made in the USA!
A first grade student could have written better instructions and a blind man could have taken better pictures.

Well your review is definitely descriptive. I recommend watching the video install that we have on a 2002 Dodge Ram for help.
Great quality Madison was also wonderful to work with Will with her again
My order arrived in 3 days and in perfect shape. Instructions were easy to follow and fit perfectly. Took me about 5 hours to install, considering I’m 70 years old and it was a hot day in Alabama.
