Yes, the Curt Front Mount Hitch # 31367 will indeed fit a 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser. It has a 350 lb vertical load limit so it can certainly be used for a spare tire mount. A really good option for a carrier is our etrailer Hitch Mounted Spare Tire Carrier # e98ZR. It has a universal bolt pattern design so it will accommodate virtually any wheel/tire combination.
