Recommended 7-Way Wiring and Brake Controller for 2019 Toyota Highlander
Question:
Hello, I have a 2019 Highlander V6 I need to add towing capabilities to. I have a hitch installed already, but no wiring. Ill need wiring for a 7 pin and a brake controller for a tandem axle trailer. Could you provide a kit for this? Thanks

I can certainly help you put this together for your 2019 Toyota Highlander. To add a 7-way you need to start with a 4-way. If you do not have the factory tow package you can use the # 118449. If you do have the factory tow package then the # 56042 will work. Both will provide you with a 4-way that can power a trailer's signal lights.
Once you have your 4-way installed you can use the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. This kit comes with an adapter, wiring, breakers, mounting bracket, and everything else required to upgrade to a 7-way connection.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. This is a simple but reliable brake controller that won't take up any extra space in your Highlander. The main unit mounts behind the dash so only the control knob will be visible. The knob controls the braking power, acts as the manual override, and has colored LED signals for diagnostics. The # RED69FR wiring harness will also be required for installation. If you want to install the knob in an empty switch space you can use the optional Mounting Panel # RED48FR designed for 2019 - current Toyotas.
I have attached some installation videos below for your reference.
