Wiring of Bright Way Push Test Trailer Breakaway Kit

Question:

I have the 3802346 breakaway switch. I wired per the diagram on the cover. It does not operate. The diagram shows only six wires, omitting the blue wire. The diagram indicates the red wire is the battery, and the black is for the brakes. Looking at the wiring at the axles I see white and blue wires making the appropriate connections. If I understand correctly there seems to be no standard for the functions of the wires for different trailers why?. If that is the case, can I assume the blue not the black is for the brakes, and if so, which is the battery connection black or red and what does the remaining wire do? FYI- the remaining wires function as indicated, white for the ground, green, yellow, and brown for the trailer lights.

The 7th circuit that is omitted on the wiring diagram of the Brightway Breakaway Kit part # 3802346 is an aux circuit that is most commonly a reverse light circuit if it's used at all. The rest of the colors are standard function but if your colors are different you would need to wire by function instead. The actual taillight functions bypass the charge altogether so you would not need to worry about them with this box.

The red wire is the 12 volt aux circuit which sometimes can be black, blue is brake output that runs to brake, and white is ground. These functions cannot be mixed up.
