Can The MaxxAir MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent Be Installed On A 1-1/4" Thick RV Roof
Question:
I am interested in the Maxxair MA00-04002K, but it says it fits roofs 2” to 4” thick. My roof is about 1.25”. Can I install it so it just protrudes down a little further?

From the edge of mounting flange that would sit on the roof to the inner plate that you would see inside the trailer is approximately 1-1/2". With it sitting down a 1/4" lower than the ceiling the mounting flange for the trim piece would never be able to sit flush against the interior ceiling so you would need to install some sort of spacer. This is super common when we install roof vents in enclosed trailers so we typically just build a small frame around the opening with some plywood to thicken up the roof. If you want to make it look a bit nicer then you can paint the wood white to match the trim and screw it into place and then screw the trim ring to it.
The MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-04002K comes with mounting hardware included so all you'll need to get is some butyl tape # AL28FJ and self-leveling sealant # 34427034145-1 to properly waterproof the top mounting flange.
