Stromberg-Carlson Landing Gear Can Barely Raise Forrest River Toy Hauler Off of Hitch
Question:
Is there a gear box available that would replace the standard gear box you sell but would have a better ratio that would raise the trailer slower but not work the electric motor quite as hard I have a Sand Storm toy box made by Forrest River and it is ALL the motor wants to lift the trailer off of the pickup.

There is no alternate gear box available but you may be able to install a second motor and switch, # LG-217884, so that each motor is only doing half the work. This will help the motors to last longer and should raise the trailer a little faster. You may also want to check the battery the motor is pulling from. If it is weak then that would affect the motor performance. Any auto parts store can test a battery for you.
If you get a second motor, you will also need to replace the follower leg on the system with a lead leg, # LG-179013, and gear box # LG-179015.
