Longest 2" Hitch Receiver Extender for Backing Boat Trailer Into Water
Question:
Hi. When launching my sailboat, it is sometimes necessary to back the truck into the water to float the boat off the trailer. Im interested in a 2 hitch extension to solve the problem. It would be used only at the boat launch and not over the road. A hitch extender like Item # C45796 might work but that item is only 18. Are longer extensions feasible and available - maybe 4ft or greater? Thanks.

The 18" long Curt Extender # C45796 is the longest we have that doesn't require a different trailer hitch on your truck. We definitely have some longer 4' ones but they require a special dual receiver on your tow vehicle - see part # TLE1548 as an example.
If it's your own personal launch site you might consider installing some type of winch system to the trailer so you can back it into the water without getting your truck wet. Let me know if this is an option you'd like to explore and I'd be more than happy to look into it with you!
