The videos we have are based on what vehicles come in for installations so we just have not had a 2009 Silverado yet but you can install the P3 brake controller on it.
On your truck you will have a tow package wire bundle under the hood, to the left of the steering column. held together with a white tag.
The truck red wire attaches to the brake controller black wire
Truck Dark Blue attaches to brake controller blue
Truck Light Blue attaches to brake controller red
Truck white attaches to brake controller white
If the truck has an orange wire it is not used.
There may be some additional connections needed under the hood to make everything fully functional. I have included a link to our how-to article that explains the installation and the under hood connections that will need to be made. I have also included a link to a video showing a brake controller installation on a 2008 Silverado which will have the same process as your 2009.
