Fifth Wheel/Gooseneck Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2001 Dodge Ram
Question:
Is this the right part for my 2001 dodge ram 2500 or do I need a different plug? I want a connection in my bed for my titan 25foot flatbed

The 2001 Ram uses different connectors, so you would want to use the Hopkins # HM42137 to install a 7-way connector in your truck bed. To install, you would use a hole saw to drill a 2-1/8 inch hole in the truck bed where you want the connector located. Push the wiring through the hole, and secure the connector to the bed sidewall using the supplied hardware.
From under the truck, pull the wiring through to the underside of the truck. Trace the wiring harness from the 7-way on the rear bumper, looking for the junction on the drivers side frame rail where the connector plugs in. Unplug this connection, and plug the fifth wheel connector inline. Use the supplied zip-ties to secure the wiring, and you are done.
