Trailer Hitch Clearence for the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch on a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Most of these hitches set very low if the jeep did not have the bumper cut out, how high is yours?

Expert Reply:
I went out to the warehouse and measured the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 75139 for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. From the point where the hitch mounting brackets contact the vehicle frame to the top of the hitch receiver the distance is 7-1/8 inches, and the distance from where the hitch mounts to the vehicle frame to the lowest part of the hitch underneath the receiver is 9-3/4 inches.
It is hard to give a height measurement from the ground with the many different tire sizes available and suspension enhancements that are used on vehicles, Jeeps especially. If you measure down from the frame and extend that to the rear you will have a very close approximation of the height that the hitch will end up at.
If you look at the top left portion of the instructions (see link) there is a drawing showing how the hitch should sit once installed.
