T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118494 On 2014 Chevrolet Equinox
Question:
I havent seen any instructions yet on trailer wiring harness installation for the 2014 Equinox. Is it the same as the 2013s? if so and I use harness 118494, do I have to run a power wire all the way to the battery or can I use the power port in the cargo area that is always on? thank you.

For your 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118494 will work. I spoke with my contact at TowReady and they told me that the installation is similar to the 2013 Equinox installation. You do need to run the power wire up to the positive terminal on the battery. Even thought there is as you say constant power in the cargo area, it is not a good idea to connect your power wire anywhere that could run the risk of being pulled loose or damaged. Keep in mind when routing the wires under the vehicle you want to stay clear of any moving parts or from high heat sources to prevent any damage to the wire. I have attached an installation video for this harness.
