Replacement Leaf Springs For a 2021 Dutchmen Coleman Light 2455BH Travel Trailer Camper

Question:

I have a 2021 Coleman 2455BH. This summer our camper had a leaf spring break, and as such has been in storage since. I am wondering if the Leaf Spring # e44SR would be the correct Leaf Spring? I have 3500lb axles, but due to the road conditions where we live in Alaska, would like something a little more heavy duty knowing this wont change the max capacity. Ive looked at the Axle, and even tried to get the info from Lippert they made the axles without any luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Your 2021 Dutchmen Coleman Light 2455BH will have came with leaf springs like the Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # e54SR. Do remember leaf springs should be replaced in pairs. As you are wanting to move to a stronger spring I recommend the Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e93SR. These will have an additional 250lb capacity per spring so you will not be installing springs which are so stiff they cause the trailer to bounce and transfer a lot of shock inside the camper. The springs are finished in a Dacromet finish which provides superior corrosion resistance as opposed to the factory springs. Since you are changing the weight rating for the springs on a tandem axle you will want to replace a 4 springs so they axles function properly.

The Double-Eye Spring for 5,000-lb Trailer Axles # e44SR you were looking at I feel are going to be too stiff for your Coleman. This will cause the trailer to bounce more and put more shock inside the camper. The additional shock could lead to more damage to the fragile trims and parts used in the camper.
