Question:

I need a spare idler hub for a J. Q. tex marine trailer. The trailer is a 2700 lb rated trailer for a 16 foot boat. I beleive the current hub is a dexter self lube. The spring axle is stamped 3500 lbs..It is a black 5 bolt hub.

It sounds like you may have a Dexter Nev-R-Lube axle on your J.Q. Tex marine trailer. If that is the case, a replacement hub is no longer available. If/when you need to replace the hub the only option will be to completely replace the axle and hubs. The Nev-R-Lube uses a metric cartridge style bearing so your standard bearings and hubs will not fit the spindle.

If you have an EZ-Lube axle with zerk fittings on the end of the spindle you can use the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 3.5K Axles # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K. This uses the standard 3,500 lb axle bearings and works with both E-Z Lube and etrailer Easy Grease trailer axles.
