Will RoadActive Improve Ride Quality On a 2018 Ford F-150 With TorkLift StableLoad?

Question:

I’ve been pulling my 34’ 8,500 lbs travel trailer with the TorkLift StableLoad, there is minimal sag with these. I also use a weight distribution system to aid with sag and sway control. Will adding RAS3611-Y provide better ride and control? Since a number have commented that it raises the back by about 1”, do I negate any of the benefits by putting a 2” lift n the front end?

Expert Reply:

The RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-YHD will provide a more stable ride on your 2018 Ford F-150. Since this system is active as soon as you install it on your F-150 it does not require the additional load to compress the leaf springs onto the overload spring like the TorkLift StableLoad Suspension Upgrade # TLA7310S. Therefor it will provide more stability while also reducing axle wrap and wheel hop. Both these systems can be used together or you can still disconnect the TorkLift when not hauling additional weight.

Most of the reasons some see lift is often contributed to worn out springs or already having weight on the rear suspension. You can still use a leveling kit on the front of your F-150 to level the truck.
