Can Leaf Springs Be Repositioned If Correct Length Is Unavailable

Will I have to reposition the hangers on my trailer if I go from a 25inch leaf spring to a 27inch leaf spring?

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can use the 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 3,500-lb Trailer Axles # SP-210275 and reposition it from your current 25 inch spring.
First you need to make sure that you measured the springs correctly. Over time springs do flatten out. Be sure to measure from eye to eye on the spring when the trailer is jacked up with the axle hanging free.
If you can not find the correct length you can replace and reposition the spring hangers if needed. You will want to meausre the height of the existing hangers and be sure to replace them with hangers with the same height.
