Trailer Hitch Receiver And Vehicle Wiring Harness For a 2022 Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo Signature
Question:
I just bought the Mazda CX-5 2.5 Turbo Signature which replaces the Grand Touring. It was mentioned in the description for the trailer hitch that a bottom piece had to be permanently removed to install the hitch. Does that apply to this model? If yes, can you be a bit more descriptive on the piece to be removed permanently?

I have linked an installation video below for an installation we did on a 2022 Mazda CX-5 with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98902. In the video it shows the under fascia being remove as well as the wiring harness connections being removed from both the drivers and passenger sides of the frame. You will likely have the fascia and if your 2.5 Turbo Signature does not have the harness there will be plastic plugs that will need to be removed. A Trim Removal Tool # ALL648544 will make removing the plugs easier.
The Vehicle Wiring Harness # C45FV will allow you to install a functioning 4-way flat connector.
This will be needed for towing most trailers to operate the trailer lights. You can also use this for Auxiliary Lights # C53201 in the event your hitch mounted accessory impairs the view of the tail lights on Mazda.
