Trailer Jack for Trailer With Non-Traditional Trailer Tongue

Question:

Hi. I have a second hand trailer in need of a jack. Unfortunately, the frame is not rectangular nor even c channel. It is a sort of upside down ‘U’. Reminds me of a sign post. Picture attached. I can’t seem to find a jack that can mount to this weird geometry.

The only option to add a jack to your trailer with that tongue would be to drill in and attach it to the front of the trailer itself. You could use the Round Swivel Marine Jack w/ Wheel # MJ-1206B and bolt it straight onto the frame instead of using the brackets to go around the frame.

What I would really recommend is cutting off that trailer tongue and adding a new one. This would allow you to install a trailer jack on the tongue itself. Also, I'm not sure how that trailer is towed, but adding a new tongue would let you install a coupler like the # CT-3002-Z so you could tow it with a ball mount.
