Operating a MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent in Ford Transit For Dogs

Question:

Hi- I am buying the Maxxfan # MA00-06200K Ford Transit 150 2018 cargo van. I need to know exactly what other components to buy to connect it, and if I can use a deep cycle battery I cant afford a solar setup. What battery will be best? Also, is it possible to add an outlet to charge my phone and small lights? How is this done off of a normalinch i.e. non-solar setup battery? Please include all the mounts, wires, any converters, etc. so I can have everything I need. I wont run the fan continuously- just when the dogs are in the van or if I am camping in it.

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat, # MA00-06200K uses up to 5-Amps to operate when running and up to 9-Amps for startup. If you are wanting to operate this from a battery and use that battery for lights and charging electronics too. I suggest you go with at least a 100 Amp Hour battery such as the # GP99QR.

This will require a complete a charging system to be constructed to support the battery being recharged from your vehicles electrical system. If your goal is operating a MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat, # MA00-06200K to keep your air circulation in the van for your dogs while parked, I suggest you use a generator instead of building a charging system; it is far more cost effective and simpler. I recommend the A-iPower 2,000-Watt Portable Inverter Generator, # 289-SUA2000i and the NOCO Genius Smart Battery Charger - 5 Amp, # 329-GENIUS5 to recharge your battery.

Installation of the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat, # MA00-06200K will require an opening cut into the roof of your van. Please note the linked installation video I have attached.
