Recommended Hayes - Proportional Trailer Brake Controller
Question:
Good afternoon. I currently have a Hayes time delay brake controller on my 2010 Chevy Silverado. I had it wired and installed by the RV dealer when I purchased my travel trailer. I want to swap it out for a Hayes proportional controller. Are they directly interchangeable? Can I just unplug the one and plug in the other? thanks.

I recommend the Hayes - Proportional Trailer Brake Controller, # HA81742B. This has the same connection as the Hayes Time Delayed Brake Controller, # HA81760. If you have the, # HA81760 or one with the same connector, they are interchangeable. Please note the attached image.
