Troubleshooting 12 Volt Power Circuit of 2019 Ford F-150 Trailer Wiring Not Active

Question:

C56413. I hooked this up to 2019 F150, but I cannot get the 12v charge pin to work. I checked fuse box, and fuse is properly installed. Have y’all ran across this in the past?

The new Ford trucks like your F-150 that have the smart tow package require a trailer to be connected for the 12 volt power circuit to activate. So what I would recommend you do is try connecting to a trailer and see if the circuit then activates.

I installed this connector (very easy) but my 12V indicator never lights. I verified connections and tried all the internet remedies I could find (door closed, in gear, drive 10 feet, etc) but I never get the indicator. When my camper is hooked up, it always says Trailer Disconnected on the dash and I do not think I am charging the battery. 2nd issue is that as I drive along, the brake gain message flashes on my screen repeatedly. I just cleaned and reapplied dielectric hoping that goes away. Thoughts on the 12V issue?

@Jeff Your truck has a really annoying 12 volt power circuit on the 7-way. The only consistent solution we have is to basically bypass it all and run a 10 gauge wire straight to the battery on the 1:00 pin of the 7-way with part # 10-1-1 through a breaker like part # 9510.

@JamesonC Do I need to disconnect anything in the event that the "normal" circuit ever does wake up? Seems like 'No' as it is a single source of power going down 2 parallel paths?

@Jeff Wouldn't be a problem but you'd end up disconnecting the factory circuit to connect the wire like I mentioned and then you could just tape it up.
