Installation of Thule Rubber Straps for T3 Bike Rack Cradles
Question:
We are trying to remove the end cap but one of them has the bike lock cable. We are unsure how to get the cap over the cable.

If the cap at the end of the bike rack arm has a rivet instead of a screw to hold it on (check on the bottom of the arm) then you will not be able to remove it. But what you can do to get strap # 753-3535 installed is essentially stretch it out enough to go over everything, including the cradle.
I have actually done this myself and made a video of it. You basically have to work it on there by stretching and moving it as you go. The matching cradle on the other hand, # 853-5829, would require that cap coming off. You could pop the rivet out or drill it out carefully and once completed use a screw but doing so will void the rack warranty.
