2014 Ram 2500 B&W Base Rails and Curt E16 5th Wheel Hitch Fitment

Question:

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 6 foot 5 inch box and was looking for a 5th wheel slider hitch. I found the Curt E16 Part #16516 and rail kit RVR3200 Would these work together and fit my Ram and how difficult is this to install? It also said something about an additional bolt kit...would I need to order that also to make sure the hitch is secure? Thank you

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R16 Roller # 16516 will fit with the B&W Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # BWRVR3200, you this base rail kit won't fit directly with your 2014 Ram 2500. As you mentioned, you will need a semi-custom bracket kit to get this installed on your truck you'll need the whole kit # BWRVR3202-00 which comes with the base rail kit we linked above as well as the semi-custom brackets.

If you don't already have a 7-Way in the bed of your pickup I recommend grabbing the Pollak # PK11893-11932 as well so it's easier to connect the wiring from your 5th wheel.

Please note that the E16 will get the job done but it is an entry-level 5th wheel hitch with a slide-bar jaw. This means there will be some space around the king pin so you'll likely experience chucking (back and forth movement) when you're taking off and stopping. If you're able to open up your budget some I recommend jumping up to the B&W Patriot # BWRVK3270 because it has dual 1" thick jaws for 360-degree contact with the king pin and the cushioning is much better. If you are going to be towing a long distance and/or frequently the Patriot will be your best friend.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out as well.
