Hello, neighbors. I'm Steven with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at this B&W Semi-Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for the Dodge Ram pickups. Now folks, again, this is semi-custom. Make sure you're checking our fit guide at etrailer.com to make sure you're getting the right kit for your particular vehicle. So again, this does fit Dodge Rams, lots of different bed lengths, year, make, model, cab styles.
Please check our fit guide at etrailer.com, top center of the page. Enter the year, make, and model, and make sure you get the right parts the first time. Now folks, these brackets on the sides here, again, these are semi-custom. You see the two up here. You're gonna get four L brackets.
You may or may not use all of those, so just keep that in mind. Follow the instructions per your specific vehicle. Make sure you're putting them in the right one. So the ones back here in the back are longer than these L brackets here. And the ones here in the front are the semi-custom ones that are curved, molded perfectly to fit up to the frame of your truck.
Now these do provide a nice mount beneath the truck bed to provide attachment points for your fifth wheel rails. Now those rails are sold separately and you can get them at etrailer.com. Now this kit does work with many, many different fifth wheel hitches, such as B&W Patriot, the CURT, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, Reese, and even the Valley fifth wheels. It is made in the USA, and it has a nice limited lifetime warranty. Now again, you're gonna get a lot of hardware and everything.
I've got a lot of stuff already kinda loosely fitted here, all across the brackets hanging there. So again, this is what I personally was left over for my demo. You may or may not use all the brackets, all the spacers, these kind of spacers. So keep in mind, follow the instructions, make sure you're using everything you need to, or things you don't have to. So one thing that's neat is these fish wires here, the threads of this bolt here that you get will actually thread into the fish wire, and then you can then use that to pull through the hole of the frame to get that to the right location, coming from the inside of the frame facing out. So very nice fish wire there that helps you to put the install as well. I wanna point out that everything here is a nice, sturdy, heavy duty steel. It's been gray powder coated, it's gonna resist corrosion and rust, that kind of stuff. Now these base rails are what they call a 10 bolt base rail kit. And again, they do sit in the truck bed. That way you can then attach your fifth wheel hitch on top of them. Now that fifth wheel hitch will go down inside of these rectangular slots here along the rails. Now that may not be this close together, maybe farther out, but that's the shape of the rail those will fit in, and then the pin comes down through the leg of the fifth wheel to keep it on these rails. Now you can kind of see these rails have like a hat channel shape to them. So keep in mind you do see these rails in the bed. Now obviously, I've got one higher than the other one, just again for demo purposes. But these rails will be in the bed permanently and you will see these. So keep in mind they got that hat channel side there. It's a good inch to an inch and a half raised above the bed height itself.
