How To Tell if the Fastway e2 4.5K Weight Distribution System Offers Enough Rise

Question:

Hi, I bought the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 4,500 lbs GTW, 450 lbs TW - FA92-00-0450 for towing my Jayco Jay Flight 174BH with with my Toyota Sienna van. To get the trailer nice and level I need about 1.5inch more shank rise. Your site lists the shanks thats included in that kit as 6inch rise/2inch with 5 holes and overall part height of 6 1/2. The shank Im considering is Fastway Item # FA92-02-4213 which also list 6inch rise/2inch but obviously has different geometry with 6 holes and overall part height of 9.5. Just looking at where the holes start above the hitch piece and knowing the spacing Im thinking this shank should get me the extra rise without going all the way to the 9 1/2inch rise which likely wouldnt let me tailgate open. Please let me know if youre seeing what Im seeing.

The Fastway e2 Weight Distribution part # FA92-00-0450 comes with a shank that offers up to 6" of rise. This should be more than enough for your needs. To confirm, simply measure the distance from the ground to the bottom of the trailer coupler while level and then from the ground to the top inside edge of the vehicle receiver. The difference will be your rise requirement. You'll then just need to invert the shank and move the hitch head accordingly.

The next size up is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution Shank part # FA92-02-4214 which offers up to 10-1/4" of rise.
