Are The Support Brackets Needed For A Trailer That Has Its Bumper Welded To The Frame?

Question:

Bumper is welded to the frame do I need to use the bolt on bumper supports. To carry my gas and generator? I am referring to your 24x60 bumper mt carrier

Expert Reply:

Since your bumper is welded to the frame, it should be very strong and likely won't need to use the support brackets # MO34VR for the 24x60 etrailer Cargo Carrier for RV Bumper # e99049.

However, you'll want to verify that the load you're planning on carrying isn't going to overload your bumper. Bumper capacities will vary from each manufacturer, and I recommend contacting the manufacturer for your bumpers maximum weight capacity to ensure you aren't going to overload your bumper.

If it turns out that your bumper isn't going to be strong enough to carry your equipment, then you'll want to install the support brackets # MO34VR.

These brackets will increase your bumper's carrying capacity to 400-lbs.
